ZigWheels Exclusive: 2015 Mercedes-Benz C-Class to be launched on November 25

2015 Mercedes-Benz C-Class

ZigWheels has learnt that the 2015 Mercedes-Benz C-Class is scheduled to be launched in the last week of November. At the time of the launch, the new Mercedes-Benz C-Class will be made available in twovariants andndash; the C200 petrol and the C220 CDI. It is expected to be launched at a starting price of around Rs 35 lakh.

The new C-Class gains its inspiration from the company's flagship Mercedes-Benz S-Class. The new C-Class will sport the Stuttgart-based luxury car maker's latest design language. The long hood blends well into the twin-slat grille that also houses the three-pointed star. Like its older siblings, it now carries a softer and rounder profile with its stroke like shoulder line gently merging with the LED headlights. Replacing the W04 C-Class, the W05 version looks a lot younger, thanks to its short front overhangs and low stance.

The 2015 C-Class is more spacious inside too, which is obvious - knowing that it gains its inspiration from the luxurious S-Class. The cabin design with the wooden centre console looks elegant.

Under the hood, the 2015 Mercedes-Benz C-Class will come with petrol as well as diesel engine options. The C200 petrol will get a 2.0-litre four-cylinder mill expected to produce 211PS of power and 350Nm of torque, while the C220 diesel will be powered by a 2.2-litre capable of 170PS and 400Nm of torque. Both cars will be mated to a 7-speed automatic gearbox.

The first fleet of the 2015 Mercedes-Benz C-Class is expected to be come to India via the CBU route. A single unit of the C220 CDI had landed on Indian shores for homologation as early as July while the petrol one has made its way to India as recently as October 28. The 2015 Mercedes-Benz C-Class will take on the likes of the Audi A4 and the BMW 3 Series.
