Cadillac CT6 at the Oscars



Neil Patrick Harris wasn’t the only one showing a little skin Sunday night when he showed up on stage at the Academy Awards in only his tighty-whiteys. Cadillac was also feeling a little revealing when it showed a commercial during the Oscars that seems to have given us our first look at the all-new 2016 Cadillac CT6.


Most of the commercial – titled "The Daring: No Regrets" – focuses on unconventional but highly successful people in various fields (including director Richard Linklater and Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak) before cutting to a big, white sedan slowly rolling down a brick-paved street in New York City – as a refresher, that is Cadillac’s new home away from home. While there is no confirmation that this is, in fact, the CT6, it is obviously different from the current crop of Cadillac sedans.


Up front, the sedan has a large, upright version of Cadillac’s signature grille, but it’s some of the other elements that make this car stand out. This includes interestingly shaped LED running lights that cut into the front fascia, as well as a lower air inlet and chin spoiler that give the sedan a surprising sporty look. Along the side of the car, there are sharp body creases, a familiar chrome-trimmed greenhouse and a slight indication of a short decklid and tall, angular taillights.
