Mitsubishi Concept XR-PHEV II



The XR PHEV first hit the show circuit in 2013 as a not-production-ready concept, to gauge the public’s interest in a plug-in hybrid SUV. And now, with the 2015 Geneva Auto Show fast approaching, the Japanese automaker has revealed the first images and details on its newest plug-in hybrid SUV, the XR PHEV II. For now, the details remain limited, but the model will be unveiled on March 3, 2015, during the press days in Geneva.


So why is Mitsubishi pulling an Acura and releasing the same concept multiple times? Apparently it must have received mixed reviews on the initial concept, so it went back to the drawing board to create a more production-ready version with a toned-down look. Whether or not the PHEV II will ever see a showroom is up for debate, but I have a feeling it eventually will.
