In a recent announcement, Red Bull Racing team declared that Sebastian Vettel will not be driving for them in 2015. The German has been replaced by rookie Daniil Kvyat.
Vettel joined the energy-drink team in 2009 and the combination of the two have dominated the past four seasons in Formula is. Vettel and Red Bull took their fourth consecutive championship title last year. This year however, after the new engine regulations set-in, Vettel hasn't quite been able to show the same kind of performance.
Red Bull team principal Christian Horner added: "I think Vettel reached a stage in his career where he fancied a new challenge, so that's his prerogative and like in any relationship, if someone's heart is not in it, then it's time to move on. It's the end of a cycle of course, but it's also the start of a new cycle: Daniel Ricciardo is doing a great job this year and has got three wins already andndash; he shows the new strength we have coming through."
Red Bull also confirmed that rookie driver, Daniil Kvyat, who has impressed driving for Toro Rosso, will be promoted to Red Bull. Kvyat will drive alongside team-mate Daniel Ricciardo.
With Vettel quitting Red Bull and Fernando Alonso rumoured to move from Ferrari too, the 2015 season of Formula 1 is going to see quite a few changes in the driver line-up.
