Ford India recorded overall sales of 17,306 units in the month of February 2016. The American car maker sold over 4,500 units more than in the corresponding month last year. While the overall sales graph for Ford reflects a rise, the domestic sales have dropped down.

Ford was able to record sales of 5,483 units in February this year against 5,959 units in the same month last year. The export market for Ford has been fruitful though. With 11,823 units as opposed to 6,617 units in February 2015, Ford India has reflected a considerable growth in the export market.

Anurag Mehrotra, Executive Director, Marketing, Sales and Service at Ford India said, "The Indian automotive industry continues to deal with weak consumer demand as witnessed by increasing levels of discounting in the market. The Union Budget announced yesterday, should deliver on driving rural growth and infrastructure development. However it lacks a clear roadmap for the automotive sector, which has for long been an engine of India's economic growth. Having said that, we continue to stay committed to our transformation plan which is based on product led innovation, communicating our strong cost of ownership proposition and delivering a differentiated customer experience."

Moreover, keeping in mind that they recorded sales of 12,834 units in January and 17.306 units in February this year, it has been a good year for the Blue Oval so far. One of the biggest
