The Infiniti QX70 started life as the Infiniti FX in 2003. The second generation came to be in 2008, followed by a facelift in 2011. Since then, there have only been minor changes to the SUV, with the most important being the name change to QX70 in 2013. For 2016, not a lot has changed, and needless to say, the QX70 is due to see another generational change. That isn’t happening yet, but Infiniti has just announced a new edition to the QX70 lineup that is slated to debut later this week at the New York Auto Show. Its name: the QX70 Limited.
Infiniti is teaching an old dog new tricks, as the QX70 Limited is said to bring an “extra touch of exclusivity” by offering a number of visual enhancements inside and out. Vice President of Infiniti Americas, Randy Parker, said, “The QX70 has always been a popular model in the greater New York area so it’s fitting that visitors to the New York International Auto Show will be the very first to see this beautiful new QX70 Limited model.” He continued, “The QX70 Limited offers a range of premium exterior and interior treatments, adding an extra touch of exclusivity to the dramatically styled crossover.”
Don’t get your hopes up for any drivetrain enhancements, because that just isn’t in the books for the QX70 right now, but this new Limited model does sport the new Grille that will be found on all QX70 models in the near future, along with a revised front fascia. Both of which are very good things for this old dog. So, let’s quit wasting time and take a look at the QX70 Limited before it makes its debut later this week.
