Alfa Romeo Giulia

It seems that Alfa Romeo has worked backward when it comes to its new Giulia sedan. We saw the range-topping Alfa Romeo Giulia QV at the 2015 Los Angeles Auto Show, sporting its 505-horsepower, 2.9-liter, Biturbo engine and carbon fiber body components. Now that the Geneva Auto Show has kicked off, we’re finally getting to take a look at the base-model Giulia that most people will end up with. Fortunately, working backward worked well for Alfa, as the new Giulia looks just as sporty as the QV, despite having some minor styling differences.

The new Giulia doesn’t have all of the goodies found on the Giulia QV. Things like the 2.9-liter engine, the torque vectoring system, Alfa DNA Pro, and chassis domain control are all left out of the base-model Giulia, but that doesn’t make it any less of a car. Despite these things being limited to the QV, the base-model Giulia still brings enough to the table to keep just about anyone happy – even if it doesn’t have 505 horsepower and the other track-inspired goodies.

So, now that the Alfa Romeo has finally pulled the sheet off of the base-model Giulia, let’s take a good look at it. It might not have all of the extra little goodies that the QV does, but I have a feeling you’re going to like it all the same.
