Spied: 2015 Ford Endeavour being tested in India before launch

Not one but three test mules of the 2015 Ford Endeavour were spotted being tested for the first time in India. The more stylish and better equipped premium SUV from Ford is said to be readying for its Indian debut.


Out of the three, two of the SUVs are reported to be 2WD versions and both powered by a 2.2-litre TDCI diesel motor, with one being the manual transmission variant, while the second comes equipped with a 6-speed automatic gearbox. Internationally, the 2.2-litre oil burner is rated at 160PS of peak power and 385Nm of maximum torque.

The third 2015 Ford Endeavour spotted testing is said to be the 3.2-litre Duratorq diesel motor good for 200PS of power and 470Nm of torque, and a 6-speed auto box powering all four wheels.

The 2015 Ford Endeavour 3.2-litre AWD AT could be the top of the line variant, as it also comes with terrain management system, which adjusts the throttle response, gear shifts, differential, and traction control to suit the road surface or setting selected.

Imported as CKD units from Thailand, the new 2015 Ford Endeavour will be assembled by Ford India at its Chennai plant. The 2015 Ford Endeavour was launched earlier this year in Thailand from Rs 24.27 lakh.
