Ford Fiesta

The current generation Ford Fiesta has been around since 2008, with a mild facelift happening for the 2014 model year. That means it’s about time for Ford to usher in a new generation, and now we’re finally getting to see the next-gen Fiesta testing in the wild. We can’t make out much from first glance, due to heavy camo and padding, but it looks like the front and rear lights are more horizontal than before. And, it looks like it will have a thinner radiator grille and a taller air dam. Add all these together and the new Fiesta should look wider than the outgoing model. Furthermore, we’re expecting the interior to feature better materials, fewer buttons, and a larger touchscreen display to go with Ford’s latest SYNC3 software. As for as power delivery goes, we’re expecting Ford to bring a range of new EcoBoost engines with three- and four-cylinders. An RS variant will hopefully make itself available to the masses as well.

Ford has gone to extremes to cover up the body of the test mule you see here. There is padding everywhere to conceal new body lines and the car’s overall profile. Ford’s mule-prep guys even slapped a fake bumper skin to the front to conceal the design of the front fascia. With that said, it’s safe to say that Ford has pretty much nailed down the overall appearance of the car, and is focused on keeping it a secret as it irons out the details and tests all of the new chassis and drivetrain components.

Despite the fact that Ford’s camo game is strong, we can still make out a few things here and there. On top of that, this camo- and pad-covered mule opens the door for speculation, so we’re going to do just that in our review below.
