Lotus 3-Eleven

Having launched the Elise S Cup in 2014 and the Evora 400 in 2015, Lotus is slowly but surely heading towards stability under the guidance of Jean-Marc Gales. The Frenchman joined the company in May 2014, when the Brits were struggling to stay afloat with net losses at more than $250 million at the end of 2013. Now that the British brand is somewhat stable, Gales reportedly wants three new vehicles in dealerships, including an Evora Roadster, an SUV, and a successor to the 2-Eleven.

Gales himself confirmed there will be a new 2-Eleven back in February, while also claiming it will be both lighter and more powerful than its predecessor. Unfortunately, the Frenchman failed to reveal any actual details, leaving everyone wondering when and if it will actually arrive. Now, Gales returned to confirm the track-focused sports car is indeed coming and that its official unveiling will take place at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show in September. Oh, and he also told Auto Motor und Sport it will be launched under the 3-Eleven moniker. Makes sense, right?

Gales had a few more interesting details to share with the German magazine, but you’ll have to join me in my speculative review of the 3-Eleven to find out more about that.
