Mahindra is gearing up for the launch of its forthcoming new SUV codenamed, the Mahindra U301, or the rumoured next-gen Bolero. The U301 has been caught testing several times in India, but for the first time shutterbugs have managed to capture the images of the interior of this upcoming new SUV.
The dashboard of the upcoming new U301 SUV receives a mix of chrome and silver accents. The SUV gets a new three-spoke steering wheel with audio controls, silver accents for the AC vents and centre console, new HVAC control rotors, a new infotainment system with a larger display and chrome rings around the instrument clusters. The centre console also receives ports for AUX and USB connectivity, next to the 12V power socket.
Not much is known about the engine specifications, but reports suggest that a 1.5-litre MiCD three-cylinder twin turbocharged diesel engine churning out 100PS of power and 240Nm of torque will work under the hood of this forthcoming new SUV. The engine will be mated to a five-speed manual transmission. Apart from the manual transmission, earlier spy shots of the U301 confirmed an AMT gearbox as well. Initially, the new U301 will be launched as a 2WD version.
The new Mahindra U301 is expected to be launched in India this year. Once launched, this SUV will lock horns with the Chevrolet Tavera and the Tata Sumo.
