Mercedes-Benz G63 6x6 Is Back In New Promotional Footage: Video

Despite the six-wheeled behemoth going soon out of production, with Mercedes-Benz having sold over 100 units, the G63 AMG 6x6 still demands respect. Which is probably why Mercedes-Benz decided to make yet another promotional video of the model, this time showing it tackling a mountainous region of beautiful Tuscany, Italy. The video goes to show that even when the G63 AMG 6x6 isn’t jumping over sand dunes at high speeds in an Arabian desert, the model’s off-road prowess is still unquestionable at lower speeds.

To quote Mercedes-Benz, "even the rocky terrain of the Tuscany is negotiated with all the agility of a mountain goat." Naturally, that goat would need to weigh the better part of three tons and possess six wheels instead of four legs to be comparable. Keep in mind that the G63 AMG 6x6 is equipped with six-wheel-drive, five differential locks, 37-inch all-terrain tires with an on-board inflation and deflation system and portal axles. In theory, if it has enough room, it can tackle just about any type of terrain.

Also part of the model’s appeal is its twin-turbocharged, 5.5-liter, V-8 engine that delivers 544 horsepower and 561 pound-feet of torque, delivered to all six wheels through a seven-speed, automatic transmission. If the G63 AMG 6X6 isn’t a rolling declaration of independence, then I don’t know what is, and the footage above illustrates that.
