Ferrari has a list of superlatives for every automotive record you can think of. The Italian carmaker's brand value is something every supercar manufacturer dreams of achieving but what about the value of the cars themselves? We aren't talking of the new breed of Ferraris rolling out of Maranello. The glorious classics that once took Ferrari to the top have some collectors spending fortunes that could run a small nation. Ferrari has released a list of cars that stood at the pinnacle of the auctions hammer in 2014. Here's how they stand andndash;
1. 1962 Ferrari 250 GTO andndash; Rs 241.49 crore
2. 1964 Ferrari 275 GTB/C Speciale andndash; Rs 167.27 crore
3. 1954 Ferrari 375-Plus Spider Competizione andndash; Rs 116.57 crore
4. 1961 Ferrari 250 GT SWB California Spider andndash; Rs 96.08 crore
5. 1964 Ferrari 250 LM andndash; Rs 73.15 crore
6. 1967 Ferrari GTB/4 andndash; Rs 64.46 crore
7. 1958 Ferrari 250 GT LWB andndash; Rs 55.73 crore
8. 1966 Ferrari 275 GTB/C andndash; Rs 49.79 crore
9. 1953 Ferrari 250 Mille Miglia Berlinetta andndash; Rs 49.79 crore
That's over Rs 914 crore in total for nine cars bearing the Prancing Horse on the bonnet The oldest car in the list, the 1953 Ferrari 250 Mille Miglia Berlinetta was also the least expensive, if about Rs 50 crore for the car can be called a bargain. There was little doubt of the 1962 Ferrari 250 GTO commanding a big ticket price but Rs 241.49 crore was something no one would have fathomed.
Right then to 2015 and the next set of rare Ferraris switching hands, what would be your guess of the most expensive Ferrari to go under the hammer?
