McLaren Highlights From 2015 - Mission to Monterey: Video

2015 has been a helluva year for McLaren. The Brits not only launched the Sports Series, which includes the 570S and 540C as of this writing, the limited-edition 675LT, and the track-only P1 GTR, but also unleashed the 650S GT3, replacing the successful 12C GT3 on race tracks all over the world. Highlights for the year also included the "McLaren Mission Monterey", an event during which a convoy of McLarens took the scenic route to Pebble Beach back in August.

With the year coming to a close, McLaren Automotive released a short film documenting the trip from Los Angeles to the Lodge at Pebble Beach, ahead of the famous Pebble Beach Concours events. More than a regular drive, the "Mission Monterey" gathered tens of McLaren enthusiasts driving anything from the MP4-12C, the brand’s first mass-produced sports car, to the bonkers P1. The event included a reception breakfast and midday "pit stop" lunch on the way, as well as a checkered flag finish line party in Pebble Beach.

The meeting also enabled McLaren drivers meet fellow owners and exchange opinions about their sports cars on top of enjoying the breathtaking scenery of the Pacific Coast. Not that you need an actual reason to buy a McLaren, but ownership does come with many interesting events if you live in the U.S., and the "Mission Monterey" is definitely one of them.
