Jeep Teases Its 2015 Moab Easter Jeep Safari Vehicles

More so than at any major auto show, Chrysler’s Jeep brand tends to go all out at the Easter Jeep Safari in Moab. That trend definitely continues for the 49th edition of the annual event, where Jeep plans to unveil seven new off-road concept vehicles. Before the event, which takes place March 28 through April 5, Jeep has revealed a pair of teaser sketches for two Wrangler-based concepts: the Jeep Chief and Jeep Wrangler Red Rock Responder.

There’s not much to see with either image, but with the blue Chief Concept does show that Jeep is digging into its past for a little inspiration. The angled taillight and the Chief name are both very similar to what were used on the original Jeep SJ Cherokee from the 1970s – not to mention the baby blue paint job with white side stripes that were common on the SJ. For this transformation, it appears the rear portion of the Wrangler’s body has been modified to resemble the SJ, and judging by recent Easter Jeep Concepts – notably the 2012 Might FC – the front end could get some classic styling as well.

As for the Red Rock Responder, it looks like this might be some sort of off-road rescue vehicle with compartments built into and added onto the Wrangler’s bodywork, and with the big “Jeep Performance Parts” stamp on the side, it will likely come with a full battery of off-road goodies. All seven concepts will likely be unveiled just before the Easter Jeep Safari, but until then, expect more teasers like these.
