Ariel Nomad off-roader unveiled

Somerset-based motor vehicle manufacturer, Ariel Motors, has revealed its newest creation christened the 'Ariel Nomad' ahead of its debut at the Autosport International - an annual four-day motor show held in Birmingham, UK.

Billed by the company boss, Simon Saunders as being the 'Atom's mucky brother', the new Nomad is basically an off-roader, with a higher ground clearance, a long travel suspension, a reinforced chassis, complex rollover suspension system and 15-inch alloy wheels wrapped in 235/70 tyres that help it stand apart from the crowd.

This new off-roader is equipped with a 2.4-litre four-cylinder Honda-sourced engine that is capable of churning out 200PS of power. The engine is paired with a six-speed manual gearbox also provided by Honda. The Ariel Nomad will also be equipped with a mechanical limited slip differential which will be offered as standard equipment. More high-tech systems will be made available on the Nomad but at an additional cost.

The company is estimating a curb weight of 700kg of the vehicle and a starting price tag of Rs 29.7 lakh. More details on this model are limited for now.
