Nissan has begun the pre-bookings of its soon-to-be-launched compact multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) andndash; the Datsun Go+ in India. First previewed at the Delhi Auto Expo last year, the Datsun Go+, will be available for pre-booking between January 3-14, 2015.

The company has issued a media release stating that prospective customers can pre-book their Datsun Go+ MPV with a fully refundable amount of just Rs 11,000 at any Nissan dealership across India. ()

Making the announcement, Guillaume Sicard, President, Nissan India Operations, said, "We are happy to offer our latest product Datsun GO+, a segment-creating compact MPV to customers in India. The Datsun GO+ is our second product in the market after the Datsun GO and reiterates our commitment to India."

The new Datsun Go+ is 3,995mm long, 1,635mm wide, 1,490mm high and has a wheelbase of 2,450mm. This forthcoming new MPV gets a 5+2 seating arrangement, and to achieve this Datsun has increased the overall length of the car by 210mm. Despite the increase in length and space for seven passengers, the Go+ falls under the four-metre mark which qualifies it for the lower excise duty benefits.

The new Datsun Go+ will come equipped with the 1.2-litre three-cylinder petrol engine churning out 67PS of power and 104Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a five speed manual gearbox.

We expect the Datsun Go+ to come with a price tag of around Rs 3.60 lakh.
