2015 Tata Nano Twist Active ready for dispatch

2015 Tata Nano Twist Active ready for dispatch

Spy shots of the soon to be launched Tata Nano Twist Active have surfaced on the web. A fleet of 2015 Nano Twist Active was snapped completely undisguised at a stockyard in Sanand, Gujarat. These spy shots hint that this forthcoming new car is ready for dispatch to dealerships.

The 2015 Tata Nano Twist Active gets cosmetic changes such as redesigned bumpers with new grilles and new headlamps with new circular fog lamps. Interiors will also receive a new look with better upholstery.

The new Nano will come with added conveniences like a larger 25-litre fuel tank (up by 10-litre), electric powered steering and a more practical and operational boot-lid. The current Tata Nano has a fixed boot-lid and the luggage area can only be accessed by folding the rear seats from within the cabin.

Tata Nano Twist concept

During the 2014 Auto Expo, Tata Motors had shown two new concepts based on the Nano, namely the Tata Nano Twist Active and Tata Nano Twist F-Tronic. Both the new models will be based on the existing platform and would continue to feature the twin-cylinder 624cc petrol motor producing 38PS of power at 5500rpm and 51Nm torque at 4000rpm.

The company is also planning to introduce a more powerful small-capacity turbo-charged petrol motor, in the near future. The Tata Nano Twist Active will sport a 4-speed manual gearbox, while the Tata Nano Twist F-Tronic will feature a 5-speed Automatic Manual Transmission (AMT).

The idea for the Nano was conceived sometime in 2003, and the car hit the roads in 2009. The carmaker introduced the 624cc Tata Nano as a low-cost vehicle in India and was targeted to families that travelled on two-wheelers. The car, however, failed to rake in profits for the company due to poor marketing.
