New Car launches in June 2015

Maruti Suzuki Celerio

1.) Maruti Suzuki Celerio Diesel

When Maruti Suzuki launched the Celerio at the 2014 Auto Expo, they made it available only with a petrol engine. Now the Manesar-based car maker is set to introduce the car in diesel form. Powered by an all-new 793cc 3-pot unit, the Celerio diesel will make 47.7PS and 118.6Nm. This unit is essentially the same Fiat sourced one that we have also seen on Maruti's other hatchbacks, minus one cylinder. According to Maruti Suzuki dealers in Mumbai, the Celerio diesel will cost only marginally more than the petrol version. The Celerio diesel will go on sale on June 3 and is expected to be priced around Rs 5 lakh. In our market, it will go against the likes of the Chevrolet Beat and the Hyundai Grand i10.

Ford Figo Aspire

2.) Ford Figo Aspire:

Ford is about to enter the extremely competitive sub-4 metre market with the Figo Aspire. Set to go against the Tata Zest, Hyundai Xcent, Honda Amaze and the Maruti Suzuki Swift DZire, the Figo Aspire will be launched at a starting price of around Rs 5 lakh. When it comes to the engine, the Figo Aspire will come with petrol as well as a diesel option. The petrol motor will be a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated one that makes 70PS and 102Nm. The diesel unit will be the same as the EcoSport, a 1.5-litre unit that pumps 90PS of power and makes 204Nm of torque.

2015 Tata Safari Storme

3.) 2015 Tata Safari Storme:

Tata has given its popular SUV, the Safari Storme a mild update. On the outside the changes on the 2015 Safari Storme are restricted to the Land Rover inspired front grille; it's the interiors that reflect a sea of change. The quality has now improved thanks to which the cabin feels a lot more welcoming. The dashboard now gets a black-silver treatment but the centre console still looks a bit dated. Tata has fitted the facelifted Safari Storme with their new steering wheel like the one on the Bolt and the Zest. Under the hood, the 2015 Safari Storme's 2.2-litre mill makes slightly more power. It now makes 148PS as opposed to 140PS from the outgoing model. The torque rating continues to be 320Nm. Tata is expected to launch the facelifted Safari Storme at Rs 10.5 lakh.

4.) Audi RS6 Avant

Subsequent to the launch of the 2015 TT and the facelifted RS7 in April and May respectively and as part of the 5 launches planned, Audi will bring in the RS6 Avant to Indian shores on June 4. As the name suggests, the RS6 Avant is the performance version of its station wagon A6 Avant. And while station wagons aren't really bred to deliver performance, this one here is capable of touching the ton in just less than 4 seconds and record a top whack of 305kmph. And this, the RS6 Avant can achieve thanks to a 4.0-litre V8 unit that makes 560PS and 700Nm. The Audi RS6 Avant doesn't quite have a competition in the Indian market and is expected to be priced around Rs 1.2 crore.

Abarth 500

5.) Abarth 500:

After a long wait, Fiat has finally decided to bring in the Abarth 500 to our shores. A retuned and sportier version of the Fiat 500, the Abarth 500 gets a 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol unit that makes 137PS of power. A slightly more powerful version might go on sale as well, this one making 163PS. On the inside, the Abarth 500 continues to sport the same retro-modern styling. In the Indian market, the Abarth 500 will go against the likes of the Mercedes-Benz A-Class and the Volvo V40 hatchback, and will be priced around Rs 25 lakh.
