Nissan Juke Nismo RS flips on two wheels, sets world record

The Goodwood Festival of Speed is more than just a car show and hill climb event where fancy cars can strut their stuff. Apparently, it's also the place where world records are set. But, when it comes to setting world records involving cars the stunt gets bigger and more dramatic.

So this year at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, stunt driver Terry Grant managed to not only break one of the long standing records, but to absolutely demolish it by a fair margin. The stunt: fastest mile in a car, on two wheels.

Grant had set a world record at the same venue in 2011 by driving a Nissan Juke on two wheels in just 2 minutes and 55 seconds. This time, however, the stunt driver eclipsed his own record by driving the Nissan Juke Nismo RS in just 2 minutes and 10 seconds, a difference of a good 45 seconds.

Grant had six attempts at travelling up the famous Goodwood hillclimb course during the 2015 Festival of Speed. The stunt driver, however, managed to break the record at the first go.

The jeopardy-filled drive was the culmination of three months of practice. Commenting on it, Grant, said, "I was shocked at how much faster the Juke Nismo RS was and to take 45 seconds off what was already a quick time, was unbelievable."

The driver further states that he has no intention of stopping after achieving this success. He believes he can once again smash his own record that he just set, in the near future.
