Upcoming Tata Hexa spotted Testing

Tata Hexa Spy Shots

Hatchbacks and SUVs aside, the MPV segment of cars is one of fastest growing in India. With the kind of practicality and space products in this segment offer, they are gradually becoming a mass favourite. Tata did give try to make a breakthrough in this segment with the Aria once before, but didn't taste the kind of success they would have liked. But with the new refreshed avatar of all its cars, Tata is a bit more hopeful about the upcoming Hexa. And to be sure about it, the car maker has been comprehensively testing its upcoming MPV offering.

While the car spotted well covered in camouflage, it was easy to figure out that it sports the same styling as the concept that was unveiled at the 2014 Auto Expo. Upfront the Hexa is expected to come with a large honeycomb grille which will be flanked by neatly designed brush metal finish headlights. In profile too the concept looked interesting thanks to the blackened out B, C and D pillars.

At 4,764mm, the concept that was showcased boasted to be the longest car in the segment. Space on the inside is expected to be in plenty as well thanks to the car's 1,895mm width and the 1,780mm height. To keep things comfortable on the inside, the Hexa will possibly offered with optional captain seats for the second row passengers.

The Aria based MPV is expected to be powered by a 2.2-litre diesel mill capable of 158PS and 400Nm. This engine is expected to come mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. The Hexa will make it to India in the first quarter of 2016 and will go against the Toyota Innova and the Mahindra Xylo.
