Earlier this month we reported that Renault has received 25,000 bookings within a fortnight after its launch. The demand for the car continues to grow at a phenomenal rate as the Chennai-based car maker receives another 25,000 bookings taking the number to an impressive 50,000.
Since the time it was showcased to the media in June, the car has been keeping finding its way into the news for all the good reasons. Rivaling the trusted Maruti Suzuki Alto, the Kwid looks good, has a good engine, lots of space and features going for it. And then, the most important aspect, pricing. With its price ranging between Rs 2.56 lakh to Rs 3.53 lakh, the Kwid is undoubtedly a great value for money proposition. Renault has managed to achieve such competitive pricing by localising the Kwid's production by 98 per cent. Apart from the phenomenal pricing Renault also claims the Kwid to be the most efficient petrol car in the country returning 25.17kmpl.
Renault has launched the Kwid with a new 799cc three cylinder petrol unit that makes 54PS and 72Nm. Arch rival to the Maruti Suzuki Alto and the Hyundai Eon, Renault has also loaded the Kwid with a bunch of segment-first features.
