Ahead of the Delhi Auto Expo that is set to kick off from February 3, one of India's most popular car manufacturers Hyundai has announced new safety features on as many as three of its offerings andndash; Verna, i20 Active and Elite i20, on Tuesday. While the Elite i20 and i20 Active now have dual airbags as standard safety equipment, the Verna will also get additional ABS as standard. Upgrades on the sedan also include a smart infotainment (7" AVN) system with Shark Fin antenna whereas the Elite i20 gets improved decals in the form of new projector headlamps with LED DRL and a fresh set of cornering lamps, according to a press release.
The safety features on the Elite i20 and i20 Active will be introduced without any alteration in the entry prices, added the release. Further, to strengthen advancement and hi-tech features, the Elite i20 will be equipped with projector headlamps, LED daytime running lamps (DRL) and cornering lamps. Additionally, a new body colour 'Phantom Black' has been added to the hatchback's line-up.
Talking about the Verna, the Korean carmaker has claimed to offer best-in-class safety with dual airbags and ABS as standard; the six airbag trim option will also be made available. Along with the smart infotainment system, the new 2016 Verna will come with a three year/unlimited kilometres standard warranty, which also, the company claims to be the best in class.
The safety and design enhancements introduced will be available in all January 2016 models of the three cars from Hyundai.
