The New York Auto Show was never a very important show for manufacturers until quite recently. Manufacturers like JLR for instance have always brought us some of their most important products and launches at the NAIAS and this year it will be no different. The New York Auto show will also bring around a few cars that would be very relevant for the Indian market. Here is a look at what we can expect.
Jaguar Land Rover: JLR will have quite the presence at the New York Auto show or NAIAS this year as has been the case the last few years as well. This year, JLR will officially unveil the all-new Jaguar XF which will adapt all-new styling and a range of brand new engines and drive trains to match. The new XF will adopt a more XE oriented styling and will also have a new interior with a larger infotainment screen combined with a luxurious interior.
Mercedes-Benz: Mercedes-Benz will bring the updated ML-Class or the new GLE as it has now been rebadged to the NAIAS. The new GLA will adapt styling seen recently in the smaller GLE-coupe and will be available with both petrol and diesel engines along with an AMG version. The new GLE will also make its way to India very soon and will replace the current generation ML-Class which has been with us for over three years. Also expect Mercedes-Benz to showcase cars like the AMG GT3 race car amongst others.
Mitsubishi: The Japanese automotive giant has been on an downward spiral in recent years both in terms of sales and in terms of enthusiast recognition. Their best known products, the Lancer (especially the Evolution versions) are almost dead with the company releasing a statement that they would like to concentrate more on the SUV segment instead. And as expected, Mitsubishi will bring the new Outlander to the New York Auto Show, a car that is expected to make its way to India eventually.
McLaren Sport Series: McLaren has been quite mysterious with their new cars, which they will unveil at the 2015 New York Auto Show. The new Sports Series could include as many as three body styles, with the coupandeacute; being revealed first. The new range's exact designations remain secret, but it's understood that they will follow the pattern established by the 650S.
Apart from the above, the other important launches will include Cadillac's much-awaited new flagship sedan, the CT6. The new Cadillac CT6 will be powered by a twin-turbo V8 engine and will rival the likes of the Mercedes-Benz S-Class, the Audi A8 and the BMW 7-Series. Another internationally awaited car, the new Kia Optima will also be unveiled at the 2015 Mew York Auto show.
