Ferrari LaFerrari At Spa-Francorchamps: Video

Of all the European race tracks past and present, the Spa-Francorchamps is definitely my favorite. Yeah, I know most gearheads have a thing for the Nurburgring, but nothing beats the Spa’s Eau Rouge-Raidillon section as far as track turns go. The section is unique and driving through it safely and without losing time on the long straight ahead requires a whole lot of skill. Laguna Seca’s Corkscrew is probably the only corner that can match the Eau Rouge’s difficulty. That said, I enjoy videos of just about any car being driven at Spa-Francorchamps. And I mean any car, not just the flock of P1s we saw lap the Belgian track at incredible speeds last year. But when the cars in question turn out to be hypercars, I enjoy it even more, and that’s exactly what happened when a Ferrari LaFerrari brought its 963 horses to the Spa.

Aside from the fact that this is our very first look at a LaFerrari lapping the Belgian course, the video is quite dramatic, as the action happens on a rainy day and with worn P Zero Corsa semislick tires. The result is 12 minutes of awesomeness during which the driver struggles to take tight turns without going off track as his LaFerrari loses traction due to its shredded tires. Making the footage that much better is the on-board setup of the camera showing the driver putting his hybrid supercar through its paces.
