Jaguar XF

The current XF first broke cover at the 2007 Frankfurt Auto Show, eventually making its way to dealerships in March 2008. It was quite successful, becoming Jag’s most-awarded car.

Now, however, nearly eight years later, the British automaker feels as though the sporty luxury sedan is overdue for a change, and as such, the marque recently unveiled the 2016 model year via a high-wire water crossing over the Royal Dock in London’s Canary Warf.

The stunt was performed as a dramatic demonstration of the car’s substantially reduced weight, which comes thanks to Jag’s new commitment to constructing the entirety of its lineup from aluminum bodies. What’s more, the fresh XF will feature a new exterior design, and even the possibility of a new hybrid drive system.

A full reveal, including detailed technical specs, is forthcoming at the 2015 New York International Auto Show, which is scheduled to kick off in about a week’s time on April 1st. In the interim, we do have a few juicy tidbits to snack on.
