Massive sales boost for Maruti Suzuki in April 2015

Maruti Suzuki April 2015 sales report

Maruti Suzuki has put its best foot forward to begin this financial year. While the first month always shows good demand in cars, customers seem to have flocked to Maruti showrooms in hordes going by the April 2015 numbers. The Company has posted a 27.3 percent sales rise for last month in the domestic market. India's largest carmaker sold nearly 1.12 lakh units last month compared to 0.86 lakh units in the same period last year.

Good news for Maruti is that the mini hatchback segment seems to have picked up considerably after a constant slide in sales last year. The company sold over 35,000 units of the Alto and Wagon R in April. The segment that includes the more premium hatchbacks and the Dzire combined, grew 8.7 percent too. The Ciaz has settled in well as the second best selling C-Segment car in India after the Honda City. Maruti sold 4,662 units of the Ciaz and around the same number for the Ertiga. Sales of the Eeco has grown considerably too.

Maruti Suzuki seems to be focusing on exports again too. Exports are up 56 percent, the company shipping out 11,039 units last month compared to 7,077 units in April 2014. Maruti Suzuki has had its best year in 2014-15. After selling 1.3 million units in India in a year, Maruti is upping the pace with some premium launches. First the Maruti Across/S-Cross will be launched followed by the Celerio diesel and then the premium hatchback, codenamed YRA will join the portfolio. It promises to be another big year for Maruti Suzuki.
