When we think of the Buddh International Circuit the only picture that comes to our mind is performance cars, sports bikes and adrenaline junkies for who speed is the only thrill in life. Well, this picture is likely to change much to the dismay of F1 fans in India as the race track could turn into a venue to host weddings.
Inaugurated in October 2011, the 5.13km long circuit was built by German architect and racetrack designer Hermann Tilke. With a capacity to hold two lakh people the venue had been in the news for holding concerts such as the Bacardi NH7 Weekender and the Sunburn Festival.
The Buddh International Circuit had hosted the Indian Grand Prix till 2013. The 2014 installment was suspended due to an ongoing tax dispute with the Uttar Pradesh government. As the race track isn't hosting any F1 races the venue could now host big fat Indian weddings to keep going.
It isn't clear whether the race track actually hosted the wedding or it was some kind of a gimmick to catch attention.
