Ever since the launch of the Maruti Suzuki Swift DZire in 2008, it has been a popular choice for buyers looking to purchase an entry-level sedan. The first-generation Swift DZire was a huge success among the masses, so much that it had to be re-introduced as the Swift DZire Tour even after the launch of the second-generation car. The latest sub-4 metre Swift DZire has been able to replicate a similar success story. In fact, despite not having a features list as long as some of its competitors, the Maruti Suzuki Swift DZire continues to be the best-selling car in its class.
Speaking on the feat, Mr. R S Kalsi, Executive Director, Marketing and Sales, Maruti Suzuki India said, "DZire is a complete package. Its refreshed looks, rich equipment list, enhanced fuel efficiency, have been warmly received by customers and have enabled us to strengthen sales and enhance share in a tough market. We thank all DZire customers for their patronage to the brand".
Maruti Suzuki sells the Swift DZire with petrol as well as a diesel engine option andndash; a 1.2-litre gasoline and the trusted 1.3-litre DDiS diesel. The Manesar based car maker claims an efficiency of 20.85kmpl for the petrol and 26.59kmpl for diesel.
The Swift DZire isn't the first of the Maruti Suzuki cars to have achieved the said feat. In fact it is the sixth Maruti Suzuki car to achieeve the feat. The 1 million club was first established by the M800, which was then followed by cars like the Omni, Alto, WagonR and the Swift hatchback.
