Delhi Auto Expo 2016: Hyundai to debut new Tucson

Delhi Auto Expo: Hyundai to debut new Tucson

Hyundai is set to launch its all-new premium SUV Tucson in India following a debut at the upcoming Delhi Auto Show in February. According to Rush Lane, the Korean automobile manufacturer will debut the new Tucson in India at the 2016 Auto Expo in Delhi.

Sporting a muscular appearance, this forthcoming Hyundai Tucson receives a distinctive chrome-framed hexagonal grille, narrow headlights and bulging wheel arches. On the rear end, the SUV will get boomerang-shaped tail lamps.

Reports suggest that the upcoming Hyundai Tuscon SUV will be available with both petrol and diesel engine options delivering outputs between 140-170PS and 116-184PS respectively. Currently, Hyundai offers the Tucson with a 1.6-litre and 1.7-litre petrol engine options. A single diesel engine is also provided in the form of a 2.0-litre engine. A choice between the 6-speed manual and 7-speed automatic transmission could also be available on the new SUV. A fuel-cell version of the SUV is also expected.

The car could come with various engine options

While Hyundai currently offers two SUVs in the form of the Creta and Santa Fe, this new offering could be placed somewhere between these two segments. The report also suggests high possibilities of the vehicle being initially offered as a CBU (Completely Built Unit).

In the segment, the Hyundai Tucson will have to battle it out with the likes of the Honda CR-V, Chevrolet Trailblazer, and will soon be joined by the Volkswagen Tiguan and Renault Koleos. The new Hyundai car could be priced around the Rs 25 lakh region.
