First introduced in the country almost five years ago, the Honda Brio hasn't exactly been the runaway success its makers would have wanted it to be. However, it appears that Honda hasn't given up on the small hatchback, as this new spy image from Indonesia indicates. Depicting a facelifted version of the Brio in red, the slightly grainy image indicates a bigger, wider grille, now done up in gloss black.
The teardrop-shaped headlamps seem to have received more details inside, while the redesigned front bumper now has faux air scoops with the round fog lamps nestled inside it. The blade-like alloy wheels could also be an indicator that we might see an RS variant of the Brio, just like the Mobilio MPV. A sportier-looking side skirt is also barely perceptible in the images, lending credence to this possibility.
This is the only picture of the facelifted Brio that has leaked onto the internet as of now. There are no pictures of the interior or information on the powertrain. It is probable that the new Brio will still come with the 1.2-litre 4-cylinder petrol engine that puts out 90PS of power, and is mated to either a 5-speed manual gearbox or a 5-speed auto 'box.
As much as we'd like to see the 2016 Honda Brio in the flesh, there is still no word on whether it will be present at the upcoming 2016 Auto Expo in Delhi next week.
