Images of what apparently looks like an Audi launch blueprint for 2017 have emerged on the internet. The roadmap that was posted by autobahn recently, speaks of a pretty busy next year for the German manufacturer with no less than nine launches slated for USA. The document also gives a glimpse into the plans of the brand with four rings for the year 2018.
Kicking off things in 2017 will be the new A5/S5 Coupe. The 2017 S5 Coupe has been spied blitzkrieging the Nanduuml;rburgring recently. The S5 prototype is distinguished by a sporty four-tailpipe exhaust system but underpins the same platform as the Audi A4. Ambiguity remains over the engine options but reports claim that the 3.0-litre TSFI V6 engine that develops around 360PS and the 2.0-litre TFSI four-cylinder mill that is good for 251.4PS are being mulled.
A trio of launches will then follow in April with the new Q5, the R8 Spyder and the TT RS Coupe set to break cover. The Q5 will follow the course of its more powerful sibling, the Q7, and will borrow a new set of engines from its sedan cousins. Elsewhere, the TT RS Coupe could be powered by a 2.5-litre powerplant while the R8 Spyder will take the 5.2-litre engine from its coupe variant.
The sportback and cabriolet versions of the A5/S5 will be next in line a month later, and will pave way for the performance oriented SQ7 in July. Two more launches andndash; the RS3 sedan in August and the Q7 e-tron in October andndash; will round off things for 2017.
After a rather quite ending to 2017, Audi will set the ball rolling again with a slew of launches in 2018. Prominent among these are the new A6, A7, A8 and the Q8 crossover. The R8 V6 will also join the party later in the year.
While Audi has reportedly announced its plans for launching around 10 cars in India in 2016, it remains to be seen which ones from this leaked roadmap make it to India and how soon.
