The introduction of the V-Strom 1000 was a big step for Suzuki. With a litre-class offering already rolling off its production lines, the Japanese two-wheeler manufacturer now seems to be readying a 650 V-Strom too.
The news was first broken when by Dutch website Oliepeil, when they spotted a new model tagged as DL650X. This new model features a beak-like headlight and mudguard, dual sport tread tyres and spoke wheels. The DL tag has been with Suzuki for a while, in fact the V-Strom was also codenamed with the same prefix prior to its launch. The new V-Strom 650 is likely to be a much more hardcore adventure touring machine than the current Suzuki V-Strom 650 Adventure.
With the Suzuki V-Strom already out and the new DL650X V-Strom Adventure on its way, Suzuki seems to be coming overcoming the effect of the recession. We expect the Japanese marque to showcase the V-Strom 650 Adventure at INTERMOT in a few week's time or at 2014 EICMA in November.
