Mahindra launches miniSMART mobile app to manage workshop diagnostics

Mahindra and Mahindra Limited has introduced "miniSMART", a mobile app which has been developed on an Android platform, to deal with diagnostic solutions for its complete range of vehicles. The smartphone app's second part of the name, "SMART" stands for "System Monitoring and Reporting Tool." The Android-based app, which comprises of Cloud support and wireless Bluetooth vehicle communication interface, will up the level of diagnosis productivity for authorised Mahindra dealerships.

Speaking at the unveiling, Pravin Shah, President andamp; chief executive (Automotive), Mahindra andamp; Mahindra, said "At Mahindra we have always been committed to introducing newer technological innovations, in an endeavour to create an enriched user experience and provide better value to our customers. The launch of miniSMART is one such exampleandhellip; It is in line with our Rise philosophy of driving positive change by enriching our product experience through technology at a fraction of the earlier ownership cost. Having said that, I am confident that both the cost as well as the wireless attributes of miniSMART would be a key differentiator for Mahindra dealers."

Mahindra is the reportedly the first carmaker in India to devise such a technology for its workshops and service stations. The app replaces the need for diagnostics laptops, tablets and expensive wired interfaces. Instead, with an Android-based smartphone which can be linked to the Cloud server for verifications, the app enables the authorised dealer to provide its technicians and final inspectors with the required access with maximum flexibility and at the insignificant investment cost.
