The year is about to end and we couldn't be better positioned to bring you a wrap up of the highlights of the year from all quarters. It was a memorable year for motor-bikes with owing to the ever-increasing middle-class population and better spending capacity of the country's youth. Among a truckload of information that search engine Yahoo made public this week as a part of its 2015 Year in Review for India, it also listed the top 10 bikes that Indians searched, read, or discussed the most online this year. Here is a look at them, in ascending order.

10. Yamaha Saluto
While the industry expected Yamaha to come up with a proper entry-level sportsbike to catch up with the competition this year, the Japanese manufacturer chose to slip in a 125cc entry-level commuter. However, it seemed to have caught the fancy of many a petrolhead who have looked the Yamaha, priced at Rs 52,000, up heavily since its launch earlier this year.

9. Ducati Scrambler
One of the most able motorcycles in the Ducati line-up, the Scrambler, is undoubtedly the most unique motorcycle in the Indian market. Valued at Rs 6.62 lakh, the Ducati is soon becoming the apple of everyone's eye in the country.

8. Suzuki Gixxer SF
A clear winner in its segment, this game changer for Suzuki in India is also one of our favourite bikes at Zigwheels. For its excellent performance and riding comfort, the Gixxer has also been among the frontrunners and winners at several auto awards. In fact, we believe that it would have done with an even better position on this list too.

7. Bajaj CT100
One of the best-selling bikes in the last month or so, Bajaj's entry-level commuter bike could be one of its highlights of 2015. The vehicle has been made available in two variants - spoke and alloy - priced at 35,034 and 38,034, and has emerged as one of the most affordable bikes in the country.
