
The International Student Film Competition is a part of the Pune International Film Festival, organized by the Whistling Woods International film institute from Mumbai. The students can participate in the competition in two sections andndash; 'Live Action' and 'Animation'. All entries will be judged by a jury panel. This unique competition receives entries from prestigious film schools from all over the world and showcases films only made by students.
As part of its involvement with the event, Volkswagen India will award the best entries in the 'Live Action' section for 'Best Film', 'Best Director', 'Best Screenplay', 'Best Cinematographer' and 'Best Audiographer'. In the 'Animation' section, the awards will be given for 'Best Film andndash; India' and for 'Best Film andndash; International'.
Pune International Film Festival, started in 2002, is jointly organised by the Pune Film Foundation and the Government of Maharashtra. It attracts film buffs, filmmakers and all from the film fraternity not only across Pune or India, but the globe. The 14th edition of PIFF will have seven venues including City Pride Kothrud, City Pride Satara Road, City Pride R-Deccan, Mangala multiplex, INOX Camp, National Films Archives of India (Law College Road) in Pune city and two extended venues in PCMC area.
